About the RetreatJoin Anna Franklin for a Silent Retreat less than an hour’s drive from D.C. in Germantown, Maryland. Enjoy three days and two nights on over 200 acres of rolling hills and fields at tranquil Dayspring Retreat Center. You are "invited to wander the paths, pause by the streams and ponds, rest on a bench in the shade, or walk the stone labyrinth...in both an interior and exterior experience with [the] God" of your understanding. With nourishing food and warm and welcoming accommodations amidst the backdrop of breathtaking nature, we will explore being present to the Presence, however you may name the Divine.
Retreat from the melee of busy life to pause, to tune in, to care for yourself & to discern what you are needing both during free & structured times. It may be a nap, movement, wandering outside, time in the library with books or making art...wherever you are called to Rest in the holy Silence we will share. Only when we step back from our day to day can we truly start to listen to what our hearts desire & be present to this moment. This retreat weekend will be held largely in silence, with times for community sharing both at the beginning and end of the retreat. If silence is new for you, know both that can it be welcome & freeing, and that you will not be alone on the journey. We will explore Presence through a series of modalities, including Sound, Nature, Meditation, Movement (including accessible Yoga), & practices from the Contemplative/Mystical tradition...and perhaps most of all through your interior & exterior free time :) All People, All Levels are Welcome
Whatever their state and status in life, participants are invited to join together in this special place to take what they need and leave the rest. |
